Re: abducted
Fri, March 18, 2005 - 4:27 PMPersonally, I'm working on the Grand Unified Conspiracy Theory, which will weave together all unexplained phenomena into a single mind-exploding pageant.
There's really not much going on inside of a UFO. Looks like a college dorm room, for the most part. -

Re: abducted
Sun, March 20, 2005 - 1:37 PMoh my god were you really abducted? I think I was once but I'm not sure since a lot of the things they say about being abducted like missing time and stuff could really just be the side effects of drugs and stuff. I thought that they usually didn't let you remember what happened, like they wiped your memory out or something. -

Re: abducted
Sun, March 20, 2005 - 10:45 PMOkay, for the record:
Nope. I was never abducted by aliens.
However, aliens do have a special place in my heart. Whereas some children grow up with fantasies of secretly being princes or princesses, in my case I would constantly pesker my mom with questions like:
"Are you SURE you really gave birth to me? There wasn't a bright flash of light in the sky, and then the sound of bawling from the nearby cornfield? No, seriously mom, when are my REAL parents coming to take me to their homeworld?"
This tribe is actually a re-incarnation of a mailing list dating back to the late 80s that was started in conjunction with Bill Barker's Schwa art project. (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwa_%28art%29 ). The mailing list eventually devolved into a bunch of cynics (like me) who would mercilessly torture and ridicule new members who claimed to have been abducted by aliens.
Maybe some of them really were abducted. Who knows? If so: sorry. My bad.
Apropos of nothing: Rudy Rucker has written two excellent novels about alien abduction, highly recommended.

Re: abducted
Tue, March 22, 2005 - 8:29 PMWasn't there some author who said he was abducted? And he wrote books about it, I forget his name but I tried to read the book once and I just couldn't get into it. It wasn't exciting, like the xfiles or something.
